New Release! This is a completely new blade design. Craig Catto developed this design and validated with our partner, MV Aero using CFD, Computational Fluid Dynamics. It is a completely new airfoil with a swept tip design. These blades are manufactured using VARTM- vacuum assisted resin transfer molding. We use carbon as the structure and a mixture of hardwood and foam core. Carbon allows for a very lightweight, durable and forgiving blade. We continue to use the wood core to dampen harmonics and absorb vibration. Electroformed Nickel leading edge protection is installed after the propeller is built.
Carbon is extremely strong, durable, forgiving and light weight, this is this is the structure of our blade. We use wood for a core because it dampens harmonics, absorbs vibration and its high density properties. We do use some foam to lighten the core. We use VARTM to infuse the blade.
After the blade is manufactured we install a nickel leading edge using aerospace adhesive and vacuum. Nickel is much more durable than stainless or aluminum so you will not see any pitting or erosion.
The blades will always be the same pitch with zero play! The blades have a pitch pin in the root of the blade which sits on a pitch block in the center of the hub. You change the pitch by moving a shim below or on top of the pin which moves the angle of the blade. The hub comes with 8 shims which is 16" of pitch range.
Precision machining by TK1/ Monster Aircraft Parts. The hubs have very tight tolerances which makes for a streamline installation.
We have a 12" spinner available. The spinner dome is carbon fiber and manufactured using VARTM. Our front bulkhead stationary and it self-centers in the center hole of the hub. We use an aluminum rear bulkhead.
You can choose blade and tip color.
Third color for the logo or second swoosh on the tip is an additional $75.
You can also choose flat or glossy
